For breeders

Cooperation

The foundation of our herd consists of heifers of Lithuanian and French origin, as well as breeding bulls imported from France. For several years now, we have been applying artificial insemination using breeding material of high genetic value.

We offer Charolais bulls and heifers for breeding.

Charolais breed

Charolais cattle are a beef breed originating from the regions of central France. Although their exact origin is not fully clear, it is known that the breed developed from local cattle many centuries ago – white cattle were already mentioned in this region back in the 9th century. Over time, Charolais became an important part of the French beef industry and gained wider global recognition after World War II.

These are large, heavily built cattle characterized by a deep and wide body. Mature bulls can weigh around a ton or more, while cows weigh a few hundred kilograms less. They are usually white or light cream in color, with light-colored horns and hooves. Polled (hornless) animals also occur within the breed, and today they make up an increasing share of the herds.

Charolais are valued for their excellent growth characteristics and high meat quality – especially the well-developed loin and hindquarter (round) parts. Because of this, they are suitable for raising to heavier weights and are also widely used for crossbreeding to improve the traits of other breeds. This breed arrived in Lithuania relatively recently – around 1995 – and over this time, it has managed to establish itself as one of the reliable beef cattle breeds.
